The last Sunday the Gracie Humaita San Marcos and Carlsbad team went and fought hard at the NABJJF tournament. Like most tournaments, everyone was shoved in to a gymnasium like sardines. Usually your standing shoulder to shoulder with competitors and onlookers. Everyone waiting around for their turn or their chance to watch someone close to them compete. This tournament was no different in the fact that you were standing shoulder to shoulder with everyone. What was different this time was all the familiar faces that I was standing next to. I have watched the number of people from our gym going down to watch tournaments and support their team. It’s amazing as a coach to see the competition team growing and not just with more competitors. The team as always did great. We had some wins, some loses, and some bad calls but that’s how these things go. On behalf of Gracie Humaita San Marcos and Carlsbad I want to say congratulations to everyone that competed and gave it their all.  We are very proud of you and can’t wait to go do it again.
